    Posted Aug 16, 2017 05:03 AM

    Hi,

We are using CA NFA 9.3.7

We are not able to receive any custom reports through email.

We created lots of custom reports through custom reporting tab, but not getting scheduled through Email.

We schedule mail here, and click on save changes.

but no reports through mail at scheduled time.

After that we try to schedule throgh here and we got this error

When we go to to Administration>Scheduled Emails we found this.

We configured SMTP server IP, when we go Administration>Application settings

So lindly suggest and do needfull, If we are missing something.

    Hi MCX,

I would like to request you a favor, to open this Thread into the NFA community.

Here is the Unified Infrastructure Management Community, you have to open at Infrastructure community.

Here is the correct one for Network Flow Analysis.

    CA Infrastructure Management

Please open in the right one, and delete this one!

There you will get a hand about this behavior.

    Regards,

Scheduled Custom Reports will not show up under the Admin->Scheduled Emails page.

The Admin->Scheduled Emails page will show reports that you viewed, then clicked the Email icon and scheduled the email through there.

If you got to any report page and try to send an email now, what message do you get?

Errors related to Scheduled Custom Reports can be found in the \Reporter\logs\ LogLog and ManagerService log files.

In order for SMTP to work from NFA you need to enter the SMTP server address, which you did, but you also need to enter the "From address" on the Admin->Application Settings page.

You also need to make sure your SMTP server allows your server to send SMTP requests.

    Hi Christopher,

Thank you so much for your suggestions.

Errors related to Scheduled Custom Reports

We found some error in LogLog below mentioned.

12:13:36 2 - Email: Error sending email to riju.george@mcxindia.com from "CA Network Flow Analysis" <nms_reports@mcxindia.com>
    12:13:36 2 - Email:
System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Failure sending mail. ---> System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 10.2.1.43:25

25 port is standard port for SMTP, but we are using SMTP customized port 2225.

Same SMTP port 2225 we are using for CA UIM Solution, and we are getting reports via Email.

So kindly suggest and do needfull.

There is no option to change the port from the UI but there is a database setting that looks like it should work.

On the NFA Console server open a command prompt and run:

         mysql reporter

         update general set value=2225 where attribute='Smtp.port';

    Then try an email again.

When I attempted this, my emails failed to send as expected as we are using the standard port but I did see the connection attempt using <Ip address>:2225 so it did pick up the new port.
