CA is continually working to refine our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. The purpose of this communication is to inform you about changes in third-party operating system support for Unicenter Service Desk Dashboard r11.2.

Based on customer input, CA has conducted certification testing of Unicenter Service Desk Dashboard r11.2 on Microsoft Windows Vista. The results of this testing indicate that Unicenter Service Desk Dashboard r11.2, operating with the CA Forest & Trees Runtime Option executable, works as documented on the Microsoft Windows Vista platform.

Based on this testing, CA is including Microsoft Windows Vista as a supported third-party operating system for the Forest & Trees Runtime component of Unicenter Service Desk Dashboard r11.2. Unicenter Service Desk Dashboard r11.2 has been tested to verify display operation on the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system.

However, the CA Forest & Trees Developer version included with Unicenter Service Desk Dashboard r11.2 does not function correctly, and is not and will not be supported on Microsoft Windows Vista. The Developer version can be used on prior Microsoft Windows operating system releases, for example, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 2003, and Microsoft Windows 2000.

Again, installing the Runtime option of Unicenter Service Desk Dashboard r11.2 on Microsoft Windows Vista is supported. However, you cannot use the CA Forest & Trees Developer on Microsoft Windows Vista.

Additionally, CA Forest & Trees Runtime and Developer, and Unicenter Service Desk Dashboard r11.2 are only supported on 32-bit versions of any operating system. Neither CA Forest & Trees nor Unicenter Service Desk Dashboard will be supported on any 64-bit operating system. Support for Microsoft Windows Vista is only available for Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases; there is no support for the Ingres database on Microsoft Windows Vista.

Not all Unicenter Service Desk Dashboard customers will be impacted by this announcement to our third-party operating system support. If you are not currently using, or do not plan to use, Microsoft Windows Vista in your environment, this announcement does not affect you.
