How to Get Started: LISA Application Delivery User Community

Hello everyone and welcome to the new CA LISA Application Delivery User Community!

This community currently includes users of CA Service Virtualization (fka LISA Service Virtualization or VSE), CA Application Test (fka LISA Test) and CA Path Finder (fka LISA Pathfinder).  Since we're all new to this site and it can be a bit overwhelming with so many new things to see, I thought I'd give a few tips on how to get started.

Here are my Top 5 tips to get you started:

1.   Update Your Profile

After logging in to the community site, you’ll see a person/silhouette icon at the top right of the screen indicating your profile.  (If you already have a picture uploaded, you’ll see your picture instead.) Go here to view or edit your profile.  Upload a picture or two; add your contact information; add some of your skills/expertise so that other members can find you.  There are some great new challenges called Missions to add points to your profile as well.  Select your points to see the Missions and start gaining right away.

2.   Create a Stream

Streams are the way to follow specific content on the communities’ site. On the left side of the Home page, select the + New Stream button to create a new stream.  You can select people to add to the stream and/or communities.  For example: I have a Stream called “LISA Community” that follows the “CA LISA Application Delivery Community.  Once you create that Stream, select the cog icon next to it to make it your Home stream.

3.   Ask a Question/Answer a Question

Now that you are set up, visit the content area of our community to review questions posted by others, or on our main community page you can ask a question or start a discussion yourself.

4.   Post or Vote on an Idea

The ideas that you submitted on our old community are moved over to this new community. You can view them under “Content” and then select “Ideas”.  Open a specific idea to review the details, add a comment or vote it up or down. In addition, you can add new ideas via the “Actions” menu.  Just select “Create an idea”.

5.   Join our Customer Validation program

If you are interested in getting involved in our pre-release product demos, feedback sessions and testing, request access to our customer validation program group here: https://communities.ca.com/groups/lisa-validation-group

Please note, only customers or registered partners of CA Service Virtualization, CA Path Finder or CA Application Test (former LISA products) are eligible to participate in the customer validation program.  In addition, you will be asked to sign our online agreement prior to participation.  Please sign the agreement as soon as possible to ensure no delay in gaining access to the site: http://bit.ly/HYCqhS

I hope this quick overview of the 5 things you can do to get started was helpful.  Invite others to join our community by sending them this link: https://communities.ca.com/community/ca-lisa-application-delivery All they need to do is log in and select “follow” to join.

Last but not least, if you have any questions, issues or want to read more about this new site, visit the new training community and user guide here: https://communities.ca.com/community/the-water-cooler/ca-communities-user-guide

Best of luck and please do share your own tips in the comments below!
