At the Annual User Conference we spoke a lot about the opportunities to convert CA 2E Models to CA Plex to leverage platforms other than the IBM i.
The CA Plex team put together a short video to introduce CA Plex to CA 2E Engineers.

It was good one. Plex use to have Application Integrator, which extracted 2E data model into plex.
Plex lacks behind on web/mobile development. Other tools and patterns try to integrate with plex/2E for web/mobile solutions.
A native plex solution for web and mobile development would have been great.
There are quite number of RAD tools emerging for web and mobile development.
I tried few RAD web/mobile tools like outsystem and mendix, will be trying out Alpha Software.
Eagerly waiting for native plex support for Web/Mobile.

Hi AA,
As a certified Outsystem developer myself and having few Mendix MVP friends I can say with certainty that neither tool or Salesforce (working with it currently) come even close to CA Plex interns of inheritance and database modelling. My personal experience with Outsystems and Salesforce are they are not enterprise database solutions but UI solutions and respect to Outsystem arguably the best NATIVE mobile low code option in the world (Oustsytems10 release last week with android and ios native support)
BUT Outsystems had 112 members of staff working on Outsystems10 for 18 months (I went to Portugal to check out the labs and to meet the team). CA Plex will never have that in its present form.
Our only hope is to be bought by VC company such as what happened to CA Erwin Parallax Acquires Data Modeling Solution ERwin from CA Technologies - ERwin which then bought erwin Acquires SaaS Enterprise Architecture Provider, Corso to add cloud to Erwin. So we can hope as it is happening to Erwin but don't hold your breath.

Hi,
Application Integration is still available in Plex 7.2.1, so you still have the option of extracting 2E objects into a Plex model as Plex triples. Action diagram logic is not included in the extracted objects.

Loved it. Awesome explanation of Inheritance. CA Plex was so far ahead of the game in its day.
