PPM Insights: PPM Timesheet Salvation Has Arrived!

By TjeerdHaima posted Feb 21, 2018 02:57 PM

I get it: As everyone knows who works on projects and submits time, timesheet submission is a necessary evil, one of life’s little details we wish would just go away. If you’re anything like me, half the time you do it at the last moment, either on your own or with “encouragement” from your supervisor, or you forget to do it altogether, waking up in the middle of the night with that sinking feeling in your stomach.

OK, so timesheet submission is a fact of life. But timesheet errors don’t have to be. Did you ever have a timesheet returned to you because you submitted 80 hours instead of 8.0? Think of what the PMO could be doing instead of chasing down users to correct easily preventable errors.

I’m here to tell you, salvation has arrived. Errors can be prevented. How cool is that?

It’s as simple as using the CA PWP Timesheet Validation Adapter. With this adapter, you can deploy configurable rules that give users immediate feedback as to whether the timesheet will be process-able. The adapter eliminates the wait for an approval cycle or batch to run. The quality of your company’s submitted timesheets will improve dramatically, so the PMO can spend time on useful activities. And you? You can sleep through the night, secure in the knowledge that your timesheet is correct.

If your organization uses CA PPM and users submit timesheets, seriously consider deploying the CA PWP Timesheet Validation Adapter for fewer errors—and even fewer excuses.

Here are some of the common questions I am asked about the CA PPM Timesheet Validation Adapter:

Is it compatible with and supported in SaaS environments?

Yes, it is. In fact, all PWP global delivery components are SaaS compatible and supported.

How user friendly is it?

A simple install and activation of the rules by a system admin is all that’s needed. Team members submit time the same way they always have.

Can I download it from support.ca.com?

No, but you can get it quickly by contacting your CA sales representative or account manager for a quote.
