The Father of Information Engineering

Clive Finkelstein is the “Father” of Information Engineering, which was developed from 1976 - 1980 by himself, together with consultants he assigned from his company: Information Engineering Services Pty Ltd (IES) in Australia.

He published a series of six InDepth Articles in US ComputerWorld in May - June 1981 on “Information Engineering”. He later co-authored with James Martin the Savant Institute two-volume Technical Report titled: “Information Engineering” in Nov 1981. Based on this book, IE was subsequently popularized world-wide by James Martin from 1981.
