the email timestamps generated by Areca are not in sync with the time clock

PROBLEM: the email timestamps generated by Areca are not in sync with the time clock within the
Gigastor.

Here is a suggestion to resolve the issue.

By doing this, the Areca RAID controller is not reliant upon the version of software installed on the system to generate email messages.

The RAID controller has a dedicated Ethernet port which is currently covered by some piece of plastic or tape. If you remove that tape, you can then plug in an Ethernet cable.

If you log into the ARECA controller using http://IP_ADDRESS:81
You will then go to SYSETM CONTROLS -> ETHERNET CONFIG

From here assign an IP Address to the RAID Controllers Ethernet Port
Then from SYSTEM CONTROLS, go to Mail Configuration

Setup the email configuration from here.

This will force the RAID controller to use the dedicated IP Address to send out the emails.

The configuration assistant option (http://IP_ADDRESS:82 uses the HTTP Configuration Applet itself to send out the emails.

You will want to remove the configuration that is setup on the applet side (82)

Interesting Tips, many thanks.

Ollivier
