The Interface Utilization report is popular report but what is it really telling us.

This is how it works.

For reference images of a sample Interface Utilization and Interface Volume/Bandwidth graphs are attached.

In this case the util graph is auto-scaled down to 1% because the value is .6.

0.65% utilization = 1,540,000bps * 0.0065 = 10,010 bps

10,010 bps * 1B/8b = 1,251 Bps

1,251 Bps * 60sec/min * 60min/hr = 4,504,500 B/Hr = interface volume

B=Bytes and b=bits
