In the event of a loss of connectivity between the Collector and the Console, the data is kept indefinitely – or at least as long as hard disk space is available – at the Collector. The data will continue to be collected and stored. Once connectivity is restored, the Collector will send the stored data to the Console; however, the transmission is staggered so as not to congest the network. In an OCS environment, the OCS Collector uses MSMQ to queue reports until the configured maximum queue size is reached. Reports will then be sent to the Console once communication is re-established.
