Description of problem:

nqmetricd fails to start

MTP Standalone mode broken in MTP 10.0

MTP defect 173981

In nqMetricReader logs, instances of this error appear:

00:01:35  No SA Master: skipping FetchProbeIdFromIPAddresses, fake returned probe=0

00:01:35  b_test failure at saConfigInterface.cpp 634 because Collector is not a valid probe for console

00:01:35  0

00:01:35  hr_test failure 0xffffffff  at saConfigInterface.cpp 634

00:01:35  hr_test failure 0xffffffff  at SACollector.cpp 339

SOLUTION:

• Problem was resolved in MTP build 10.0.0.90.
• A hotfix is available that can be applied to the MTP GA build 10.0.0.88 that will also resolve this problem.  The hotfix is applied using the MTP UI Admin->Upgrade page and can be found here: ftp://ftp.ca.com/pub/netqos/supporttools/releasedtools/MTPKomplete%20%5B7.31.14%5D/mtp-10.0.88-173981+173982-Standalone_Mode-20140206.tgz
