Product Announcement: Upgrade Paths and Platform Support Notification

Date: September 11, 2014

The purpose of this announcement is to inform you of the planned upgrade paths and important planned platform support information that will help you prepare for the upgrade to the next CA Client Automation release, which will be numbered 12.9.

For information on the features being considered for the 12.9 release, please refer to the published roadmap available on the CA support site.

Upgrade Paths               

Enterprise and Domain Manager Components

The following upgrade paths will be supported:

  • 12.5 SP1 > 12.9
  • 12.5 SP1 C1 > 12.9
  • 12.8 > 12.9
  • 12.8 FP1 > 12.9

Important Notes:

  • If you have CA Client Automation 12.5 SP1 Feature Pack 1 installed, there is no direct upgrade path and you must apply 12.5 SP1 C1 in order to upgrade the Enterprise and Domain Servers.
  • If you have CA Client Automation 12.5 SP1 Kubuntu patch installed, there is no direct upgrade path and you must apply 12.5 SP1 C1 in order to upgrade the Enterprise and Domain Servers.

Scalability Servers and Agents             

The following upgrade paths will be supported:

  • 12.5 SP1 > 12.9
  • 12.5 SP1 C1 > 12.9
  • 12.8 > 12.9
  • 12.8 FP1 > 12.9

Important Notes:

  • If you have CA Client Automation 12.5 SP1 Feature Pack 1 installed, there is no direct upgrade path and you must apply 12.5 SP1 C1 in order to upgrade the agents.
  • If you have CA Client Automation 12.5 SP1 Kubuntu patch installed, there is no direct upgrade path and you must apply 12.5 SP1 C1 in order to upgrade the agents.
