This course for CA Client Automation explains the three methods of detecting software titles and patches. They are Signature Scanning, which scans the agent computer based on the software signatures, Heuristic Scanning which scans the agent computer based on pre-defined sources such as the add/remove database, Windows start menu items, or MSI database. And finally, Intellisigs, which scans the agent computer using an “Intellisig” script that detects software installed on agent computers. In this course, you will learn more about these methods and how use the power of CA Client Automation to easily detect software titles and patches.

In this course for CA Client Automation you will learn when to use an Intellisig to collect software inventory data, how to create and register an Intellisig into a CA Client Automation infrastructure and view the collected results.
Intellisigs offer an additional method of collecting software inventory from your machines managed by CA Client Automation.
