Question:

When trying to run the report live Ad-hoc they fail with below error...the status shows "running" for few minutes then this error occurs.

     Proxy Error

     The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server

     Reason: Error reading from remote server

Solution:

It is suggested to Schedule a report for historical reports rather than running Live reports due to historical data, the above error indicating that the report getting timeout after running for few minutes. The Timeout value can be adjusted by editing below CABI configuration files.

1) We need to modify the following files for this.

     <BO Install directory>\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewApp\WEB-INF\web.xml

     <BO install directory >\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewAppActions\WEB-INF\web.xml

     <BO Install directory>\Tomcat55\webapps\PlatformServices\WEB-INF\web.xml

2) Open each file in a notepad. Search the key value "session-timeout",

You can find in the below section. The default value is 20 minutes, you can change it to 60.

          <session-config>

          <session-timeout>20</session-timeout>

3) Save the files and restart tomcat service.

4)  There is another setting which can help timeout issues, this you can try if the above settings do not make any difference:

     For this ,we have increased the memory pool to 512MB or 1024MB by going to tomcat configuration ->Java(which is also one of the reasons for timeout error),but still the error persists.  (see the attached file)
