After a new installation of CAVI server (versions 4.8.x,4.9.x and 4.10.x) the /etc/hosts looks like:

<privateIP> <URL> vdchost-server <URL>

127.0.0.1 vdchost-db

127.0.0.1 vdchost-smtp

<privateIP> vdchost-wsrmi

127.0.0.1 vdchost-dispatcher

127.0.0.1 vdchost-probe

<privateIP> vdchost-ipcam

<privateIP> vdchost-keyscan

where the field <URL> is the url given at installation time.

to avoid pop-up messages and network errors at login time, ensure any additional alias or URL that should be resolved to the VI server IP is added in the end of this line:

<privateIP> <URL> vdchost-server <URL>

So the new line looks like:

<privateIP> <URL> vdchost-server <URL> <newalias> <newalias2>
