Up to Version 2.3.4 monitoring Profiles being applied to the whole device.
When an Event Rule was defined on a Monitoring Profile, it applied to the entire device, that that monitoring profile was associated with – irrespective of the filtering that was set up on the monitoring profile.
So If you Just want to apply the Rule to specific Interfaces you should only be monitoring those on the device.
In r2.4, customers will be able to configure Event Rules on individual groups, instead of associating them to the entire monitoring profile.
So you can create a custom group with the appropriate interfaces (filtered) and define the event rule to only operate on that group.
