Azita Lecuire (CA) :

when will it be released?

Michael Dullea :

Hi Azita - We are targeting the end of October for the next release of PIM.

Kristen Malzone (CA) :

We are looking for participants to sign-up for the ca Securecenter Virtual Appliance Validation Program. Learn more: http://cainc.to/9CpH2D

Carlos Arellano :

could be possible to configure PIM to get this behaviour?

Carol at server3 can login using the account userA just between 8-20

Bernie at server3 can login using the account userA anytime

Daniel at server3 can login using the account userA just between 9-18

Carol -> server 3 -> userA (08:00 to 20:00)

Bernie-> server 3 -> userA (24 hours)

Daniel-> server 3 -> userA (09:00 to 18:00)

Michael Dullea :

Hi @Carlos - CA PIM does not have the ability to create preset policies for user access based on time of day.  Users would have to follow the access request process requesting specific timeframes which would then go through a manager's approval process.

Azita Lecuire (CA) :

@Carlos : we showed this during a POC using CA SSO (siteminder) to authenticate to PIM.

Kristen Malzone (CA) :

Check out the replay of this "What's new in CA Privileged Identity Manager v12.9?" webcast: https://communities.ca.com/videos/2532

Kristen Malzone (CA) :

How has your experience with 12.9 been so far?

Carlos Arellano :

excelent securing the server with access control, and some problems to solve with SAM

Kristen Malzone (CA) :

@Carlos - Thanks for the feedback!

Steven McCullar :

  1. 12.9 is an important release because it uses our new proxy server

Kristen Malzone (CA) :

Thanks @Steven!

Steven McCullar :

It has received good feedback  customers so far

Carlos Arellano :

can this new proxy record windows sessions?

Steven McCullar :

@Carlos yes it can

Carlos Arellano :

excelent !!

ricardo :

I have downloaded the installers of CA ControlMinder 12.9. This file contain all installers to Linux and a file with Distribution Server to Windows. If I want install endpoint management for Windows should install the Endpoint Management of CA ControlMinder 12.8?

Adam Roll :

@Ricardo - To understand the context, are you looking to host endpoint manager on a Windows Distribution Server?

Steven McCullar :

@Ricardo, the endpoint manager should be installed on the ENTM, is that what you want to do?

Shahn Soomro (CA) :

Endpoint management is part of ENTM, to manage windows endspoints you need a DS (distrbution server) on a windows machine, but endpoint management can be done  the ENTM on Linux server

ricardo :

For apply access control on the endpoints, Should I install Endpoint Management on Windows Server?

Kristen Malzone (CA) :

5 minutes left! Get your final questions in now!

Shahn Soomro (CA) :

@Ricardo, you can define policies throught the Linux based ENTM, you need a Windows based DS to distribute the policies to windows hosts, not create them, they can be created on Linux ENTM

Peter Ifurung (CA) :

@Ricardo - you can buld a PIM Policy on the ENTM UI installed on a linux machine.  If you want to modify an existing rule on an endpoint, you can use the Endpoint Manager UI installed on a Linux machine.

Peter Ifurung (CA) :

@Ricardo, there is no dependency to modify the rules for a Windows Machine.  Any Endpoint Manager installed on Linux will work.

Peter Ifurung (CA) :

I hope I'm answering your question.

ricardo :

This is more clear for me now. thank you

Kristen Malzone (CA) :

Alright, that's all the time we have for today!

Ricardo - I will connect you with Peter and Warren offline if you'd like to discuss further.
