Can metering information be used with ARP data in CA SAM?

Metering information cannot be added to ARP (Add Remove Program) data as these are per definition a static information about the installed software.
"Metering" is defined as the active measurement of the software execution/usage.
To consider metering information you need to combine different types of data:

 

 

    • Use ARP data for product information

 

    • Add for example the execution date from a file scan

 

After importing ARP data and metering information via file or generic data, you finally need to adjust your signatures and recognition rules to take the metering information into account.

Note: The product recognition job needs to have "metering" activated.
