Tech Tip: How to change SystemEDGE Listening Port without re installing.

Windows:

1. Stop CA SystemEdge Service (From services.msc or net stop SysEDGE)

2. Delete port# folder from one of the following locations:

W2k3
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CA\SystemEDGE\port#

 

W2k8\12
C:\Users\Public\CA\SystemEDGE\port#

3. Edit X:\Program Files\CA\SystemEDGE\config\sysedge.cf by changing default_port value to the new desired port#.

Example:

default_port 1691

4. Start SystemEdge

5. New folder will be created with Port# folder that reflects new listening port.

W2k3
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CA\SystemEDGE\port#

C:\Users\Public\CA\SystemEDGE\port#

 

Unix:

1. Stop CA SystemEdge (/opt/CA/SystemEDGE/bin - ./sysedgectl stop)

2. Delete port# folder from /opt/CA/SystemEDGE/config/port#

3. Edit /opt/CA/SystemEDGE/config/sysedge.cf by changing default_port value to the new desired port#.

Example:

default_port 1691

4. Start SystemEdge (/opt/CA/SystemEDGE/bin - ./sysedgectl start).

5. New folder will be created with Port# folder that reflects new listening port.

/opt/CA/SystemEDGE/config/port#
