Lenn Thompson (CA) :

Good morning @Chris and @Renate -- what questions do you have for our team today?

Chris Kent :

Good Morning, I have been having some issues installing the Agent Monitor in one of our environments. Once the install progresses, it fails to complete.  Has anyone reported failures like this?

Michael Woods :

Chris: What OS are you installing on?

Chris Kent :

Win 2012 R2

Lenn Thompson (CA) :

@Chris Today's session is focused on AE, but if we can get an answer for you, we will. Maybe Mike can help!

Chris Kent :

@Lenn, sorry, I thought that was part of the AE discussion.

Edwin :

Is there any target date to improve native sftp in AE as is being done for DE?

Michael Woods :

Chris: There were some reported issues with the install.  It had to do with a third party component that was used.  If you have a ticket open, let me know the number and I'll take a look.  If not, I wold open one and it should be quickly resolved.

renate edwards :

AE = CA7?

Lenn Thompson (CA) :

@Renate AE is Autosys Edition.

Chris Kent :

@Micheal - I do not have a ticket on it, it is not critical as it is part of our sandbox environment, but I will put one in.

Edwin :

AE - Workload automation

Michael Woods :

Edwin: Can you clarify which improvement specifically?

renate edwards :

so are there office hours for CA7?  This is what I put in my calendar for it.

Michael Woods :

@Chris:  Thanks.  FYI, you need to have AE 11.3.6 SP2 to use it.

Edwin :

native sftp should be able to delete or move the files in the destination folder, if the access is provided.

Chris Kent :

I will pose an alternate question - POJO jobs - we created a simple "hello world" jar/jre to run against our sandbox environment and I keep getting an error saying the program is not found.  I have placed the file in the recommended directory and also set the path, but it's still not finding it.  Any suggestions?

Chris Kent :

@Micheal - yes our sandbox is at that level.

Lenn Thompson (CA) :

@Renate The next CA7 session will be in early January (based on our current rotation). My suggestion would be to ask the question in the community. We'll get you an answer there.

Dave :

How do I show a list of users for an EEM Application Group?

Michael Woods :

@Chris:  Most likely it is the way the class was created.  If it has  a'package' then the directory structure must match that naming.  IE: directory resources/com/ca

Chris Kent :

@Micheal - I will see what I can do.  The purpose of using the POJO  our perspective is to move away  BOBJ jobs being executed through .bat files.  We are trying to experiment with the POJO job type

Michael Woods :

@Dave:  You can do it  the UI

Dave :

More info, please

Michael Woods :

@Dave:  I'm using EEM R12, it is a little different in 8.4 if I remember correctly.  Go to Identities, Under Search users, click the Application User details radio button. Ue "Group Membership" as the attribute.  Under the value, enter the group name.  Click Go

Dave :

thx Mike - Is there a way to export results to a text file?

Michael Woods :

@Dave:  The safex utility is the only CLI way to export to a file.  It will dump all groups (application and/or global) to a file.

Lee Peterson :

@Edwin   -  I'm looking into your question.   I recall an enhancement being made, but I must research the version and the precise nature of the enhancement.  If I'm not mistaken, the enhancement may have been for FTP, but I'm not sure if it crosses over into SFTP job types.  Please allow me to look into this

Edwin :

safex utility is not with working EEM R12. CA engineers confirmed it.

Lee Peterson :

@Edwin - this is contrary to my experience

Lee Peterson :

@Edwin - Do you have a ticket to reference.  Perhaps we're not understanding something.

Michael Woods :

@Edwin:  Please give me the issue number.  I have used safex many times with those releases.

Edwin :

CA Support Request 00208322 - Need help on CA EEM repoting

Michael Woods :

@Edwin:  I'll take a look and get back to you

Michael Woods :

@Edwin: That issue is regarding the EEM reporting tool for audit puposes.  Is there a different issue number?

Edwin :

  1. It is issue #. We were using safex with the previous version to get the users list on daily basis. However, when we updated EEM to R11.2 along with WCC 11.4, it stopped working. Hence, we raised this ticket #

Michael Woods :

@Edwin:  I don't know what to tell you.  Here is the first line in the issue number provided. "Description & Error Message: When installing CA EEM reporting utility on the EEM server we get the below "

Edwin :

  1. Only when safex is not working, your team suggested to try with this reporting tool.

Lee Peterson :

@Edwin  -  There are several versions of safex.   One included with WCC, and another with EEM

Lee Peterson :

Either should work

Lee Peterson :

@Edwin - if WCC has registered successfuly, then safex was used

Michael Woods :

@Edwin:  OK, was there a seperate issue for the safex problem?

Edwin :

No

Edwin :

I will create a ticket specically for safex issue today

Lee Peterson :

@Edwin - perhaps there was an environment issue.   Might I trouble you to explain how you tried to execute the ulitility, and with whom?

Lee Peterson :

@Edwin - this is probably the best route to resolution.   Thanks for doing that.

Lenn Thompson (CA) :

Does anyone else have any questions for our AE gurus?

Lenn Thompson (CA) :

@Chris Trinidad: Anything we can help you with?

Lee Peterson :

@Dave/Edwin   -  The sftp/ftp job type question is going to have to be "after office hours", as I'm unable to locate the enhancement list.   Needless to say, I've found an issue of origin that mentions the feature, so I'm optimistic I will find the feature enhancement itself. Let me get back to you guys. Please email me your addy's   petle02@ca.com

Edwin :

Sure Dave. I will email you.

Lee Peterson :

@Edwin  - this just in

Lee Peterson :

@Edwin -  There was some enhancement recently for DE, but we have yet to add into AE, but is under consideration.
