Lenn Thompson (CA) Thanks for joining us, everyone. We'll be getting started in just a few minutes.
Lenn Thompson (CA) Okay everyone. What questions do you have for our DevTest team?
Gaurav Rana: How many minimum votes an idea needs before it gets under review
mickey mielneczek: @gaurav rana - no specific number of votes for review.. each idea is reviewed on a case by case basis.
Gaurav Rana: When do we plan to provide the feature which enable us to create the request response pair files from shelved transaction in CAI?
Daniel Mazzei: @Gaurav: Regarding "When do we plan to provide the feature which enable us to create the request response pair files from shelved transaction in CAI?", can you please explain the use case and benefit to you as a user?
Gaurav Rana: so currently when we use CAI to capture transactions from a UI through middleware and all the way till the backend. The agent runs on each component webserver Middleware and backend app. Lets say my middleware talks to 30 backends. When I shelve one transaction it saves all the calls to all the backends. So when we create VSI it gives one VSI for all the backends. There is no way to filter out transactions to each backend. The middleware doesnt interact with all the backends in the same way. how do we deal with this
Daniel Mazzei: @Gaurav @Ankush: Thanks for your inquiries. We're discussing with Product Management and Engineering.
Gaurav Rana: Can you provide us the component/architecture diagram for the Demo server
Gaurav Ranae: like how many component the lisa bank application has
AK to Everyone: @Gaurav, I'm seeing what I can track down for Lisa Bank. Is the question just for Lisa Bank?
Gaurav Rana: yes lets say I want to use lisa bank with the enterprise to demo things and onboard teams. We dont get the environment usually to demonstrate various capabilities of devtest SV
AK: @Gaurav I'll have to take this up after office hours. I don't believe we have the architecture in the product documentaiton, so I need some time to gather it.
Daniel Mazzei: @Gaurav: Regarding: "When do we plan to provide the feature which enable us to create the request response pair files from shelved transaction in CAI?" We have a similar feature being implemented. It is scheduled to be released in the next version. Look for the Advanced Shelf where you can select multiple agents for inbound and agents/IP address for outbound
Gaurav Rana: did we find any documentation on LISA bank application
AK: @gaurav and @rajesh. Some documentation is in the product doc on usage etc. I do not have an architecture diagram ready at the moment, but we have some architecture diagrams etc out of Education. But we will have to take it up offline after I've had a chance to gather it.
Gaurav Rana: do you need my contact info or you can pull up from the Ca communities
AK: @gaurav I have your contact information already from other conversations
Ankush: Data Driven Feature in Devtest 9.0 Portal
Ankush: doest not allow to write match script
Daniel Mazzei: @Ankush: Regarding DevTest 9.0 Portal Data Driven feature does not allow to write match script. Can you please provide more information about the issue, use case, and steps you've taken?
Ankush: There are couple of things like :-
1) Portal only support 1:1 mapping with request and response. (If we have two same key in external file to compare with request it will provide response with first matched.)
2) No support to use Database as External Source.
3) How to use Different Sheet of XLS file in DD virtual service .
4) For Dynamic Response ,not sure where we can write java code . like we did in workstation under Match Script
Ankush: In Java Agent I am facing issue with Max.graph size error
Ankush: Trying to record Ibatis framework class ( org.apache.ibatis.session.SqlSession)
Ankush: Changed MAx.graph.size value in portal . Still the same error
Ankush: "Writer capacity full "
AK: @ankush Were the non-java agent questions related to DDVSI?
AK: @Ankush DDVSI does not support using external databases at this time, and data must be on the first sheet of the excel file.
AK: @Ankush portal does not currently support creating match scripts, you could still put properties and bean shell into arguments and values using {{}}. Adding similar functionality in portal is something we are working on.
AK: @ankush assuming we are talking about DDVSI for matching in external file, it is a 1 to 1 mapping by design
Benjamin Atkinson: lisa.vse.performance.enabled=true <--- is this property still needed to have capacity >1 ?
Benjamin Atkinson: (I couldn't find it in my manual)
Lenn Thompson (CA): @Benjamin The team is looking into your question. We'll get you an answer ASAP.
AK: @Ben. I'm researching right now. I believe yes, but will confirm shortly
AK: @Ben you still need to set it to true.
Benjamin Atkinson: should that be documented somewhere other than communities?
Benjamin Atkinson: and thank you
AK: I'll send a note to our doc team
AK: Thanks for bringing it to our attention
Anne Rhoades: The lisa.vse.performance.enabled property is in the documentation. See https://docops.ca.com/display/DTS91/SV+Installation+and+Configuration and https://docops.ca.com/display/DTS91/Local+Properties+File
Benjamin Atkinson: Ohhh True. I was unable to find it when I was searching earlier
Benjamin Atkinson: when creating VSI/VSM from json request response pairs - workstation automatically selects json data manager - would there be a way to have it add "Content-Type=application/json" to the response headers automatically?
Benjamin Atkinson: (... or application/xml for soap)
AK: @Ben Checking...
AK: @Ben. You can add the lines to the global metadata sidecar to put those lines as appropriate into the VS
Benjamin Atkinson: @AK - Thank you, looking into sidecar solution
Rajesh Singh: Is there way we can use sleep while creatign VSI..
AK: Sleep?
AK:@Rajesh how are you creating the virtual service? I take it you mean for delay at playback correct?
Rajesh Singh: yes
AK: @rajesh If you record, the recorder will automatically add a "Think Time" to each operation based upon observed performance
AK: @Rajesh If it is created via rr-pairs or say a wsdl, or if you want to manually specify the delay, you can add a "Think Time" per operation
Rajesh Singh: Thanks AK but it seems Think Time does not work in ITR mode for me. I may need to check it again. thanks
Ulrich Vogt: @Rajesh: Think Time is ignored in ITR.
Rajesh Singh: I'm also looking any kind of document that explain demo server and example to run and unerstand all features. this will realy helpful
Sunil: Hello, Is there a way in DevTest to read a specific row from ExcelSheet during execution? For example Test1 should read row 1 Test2 reads row 10 and so on.
Hi Sunil we will get back to you asap with an answer on your question.
Liz Reznak: Can we get a recap of this chat compiled with related questions, comments, and answers together at some point after this session?
Lenn Thompson (CA): @Liz: We always published transcripts out in the community after these office hours sessions -- thanks for asking!
Liz Reznak: @Lenn - great, thanks!
Lenn Thompson (CA): Are there any other questions for the team? We have about 5 minutes left now.
Rajesh Singh: Yes I had asked question about demo server/example document
Rajesh Singh: Also is there document for known issues list ?
AK: @gaurav and @rajesh. Some documentation is in the product doc on usage etc. I do not have an architecture diagram ready at the moment, but we have some architecture diagrams etc out of Education. But we will have to take it up offline after I've had a chance to gather it.
Rajesh Singh: ok thanks..
Rajesh Singh: Do we have any backlog for known issues list?
AK: @Rajesh for Lisa Bank?
Rajesh Singh: yes and for product as well
Rajesh Singh: like what feature going to release in next releases
AK: @rajesh we do have a roadmap, we'll have to follow up later.
Rajesh Singh: @Ak ..pls keep me updated on demo server as well. thanks
Lenn Thompson (CA): Okay folks -- that's it for this session. Thank you for joining us. If you have any further questions, please post them out in the community, where we'll also announce the next office hours session soon!
Rajesh Singh: thanks
