CA Technologies is pleased to announce the General Availability (GA) of CA Performance Management
r2.8.0. This release aligns with the General Availability (GA) of CA Mediation Manager r2.8.0 and CA
Virtual Network Assurance r1.1. Together the solution provides industry-leading SDN and Cloud big
data network management to reliably and competitively deliver a differentiated customer experience.
The solution continues our product strategy of delivering proven features for operational fit and
performance at scale, while expanding on our vision for monitoring complex and dynamic hybrid cloud
environments and networks based on SDN/NFV (Software-Defined Networking/Network Functions
Virtualization).
The primary goals of this release were to enhance the CA Performance Management user experience
to get the right data to the right people faster, tighten the CA Spectrum integration for improved ease
of administration, and expand monitoring visibility into vulnerable vSwitch environments supporting
OpenStack Cloud and SDN/NFV networks. In addition, the release delivers community requested
enhancements, introduces new device certifications, reduces exposure to vulnerability concerns, and
improves performance and resilience.

dashboards and context pages, to provide enhanced visualizations for monitoring and
troubleshooting of your complex network environments. For more information, see OpenAPI
Applications.
Spectrum Integration Improvements
To continue enhancing your network fault and performance management experience and improve
ease of administration, a tighter integration between CA Spectrum and CA Performance
Management provides the ability to synchronize device life cycle states and collections of interfaces
from CA Spectrum to CA Performance Management. For more information, see Manage Device Life
Cycles.
vSwitch Context Page
The most vulnerable area of any OpenStack hybrid cloud or SDN/NFV environment will be the
virtual switch. To improve your visibility into the Open vSwitch layer and guarantee resiliency of
this very complex and new network stack, we have expanded our monitoring capabilities to include
intuitive dashboards and context pages that provide insight into bandwidth utilization, errors, and
resource consumption trends. For more information, Monitor vSwitch Performance.
