Introduction:

A short video on how to install the SNMP-RI DSSP product on
Linux for eHealth to allow SNMPv3 discovery

 

Instructions:

In this video we will use:

mRemote for a putty session.

cd

mount

ls -al

|

grep

vi

    (vi commands)  / 
n    i

ln -s

chkconfig

ps -ef

umount

 

Actual
commands syntax used:

mount -t iso9660 -o loop /winshare/SNMPRI.18.1.iso /mnt

cd /mnt

./setup.bin

cd /etc/rc3.d

ls -al |grep -i brass

 

vi /etc/rc3.d/S565BrassServer

...

#chkconfig -list to see runtime options

#

#chkconfig: 345 80 20

...

./brassd -nosecpack_traps -secpack -wbufnum 4096 -sndsocksize
32768 -rcvsocksize 174760

 

new parameter   -nosecpack_traps

 

ln -s /etc/rc3.d/S565BrassServer /etc/init.d/brassd

 

now add the service

   chkconfig --add brassd

and verify it was added

   chkconfig --list | grep -i brass

 

vi /eHealth/nethealthrc.sh.usr (this file is read by eHealth on
boot)

 

# added to source brassd proxy variable

NH_SNMP_PROXY_ADDRESS="127.0.0.1:4747"; export
NH_SNMP_PROXY_ADDRESS

# end of brassd section

 

umount
/mnt
