UPDATE: version 1.01 of the vs2010sp1_vcredist packages are now available in the archive for download with the /norestart option.
The cdm probe 5.60 and greater probe has a really nice feature where on high CPU utilization alarms it will tell you which Top N processes are the consuming the most CPU resources. Very handy and time saving from a diagnostic and remediation standpoint.
However, cdm 5.70 and greater included a feature that required the use of vs2010sp1_vcredist_(x86|x64) packages. In the original versions of these packages in the archive (also shipped with 8.4 SP1) the installation command line of the package was "vs2010sp1_vcredist_x64\vs2010sp1_vcredist_x64.exe /q". While this performs a quiet / silent installation it DOES NOT prevent a system reboot if files are in use that need to be overwritten. To prevent a reboot under the miscellaneous tab of the package should be changed to vs2010sp1_vcredist_x86\vs2010sp1_vcredist_x86.exe /q /norestart. The key addition being /norestart. This may prevent the cdm probe from working but that is more desirable than a surprise reboot.
New packages have been posted to the Nimsoft archive that include this change but there was only a build number change not a version change so neither IM nor AC will ask you to upgrade. In IM you can still write click and tell it to download so that you have the latest build (4).
