Hello!
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
Welcome!
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
My name is Kristen and I am the Community Manager for the CA API Management Community!
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
Got a question about one of our API Management products? Ask it here in the chat window.
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
There is no audio. All conversation happens right here.
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
So, who's got the first question today?
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
@Sravan - Hello! How are you today?
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
Hello Kristen! I'm good. I have a question.
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
Great! What's your question?
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
Would we continue to utilize the OAuth Manager to register clients or does this in some way get replaced by the API Portal when integrated with OTK?
from Dana Crane to Everyone:
The API Portal now provides for client creation directly within the Portal UI so you don't need to use OAuth Manager any longer
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
Check out this post from Stephen Hughes on how to receive monthly platform patch Updates and other notifications: https://communities.ca.com/thread/241761672
from Dana Crane to Everyone:
Creating clients in the Portal has the added advantage of being able to track and report on the client using the Portal's Analytics and Business Reports features
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
Is there any KB article that CA provide on how we could implement a common “error” policy fragment so that policies can include this particular fragment and utilize common error handling.? Let's say common HTTP errors like 401, 500 etc.,

from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
@Dana Crane, Thank you for answering my request! So If I understand properly, OAuth Manager will no longer be functionable for registering clients after OTK and API Portal Integration. But Let's assume if any on my client is not using API Portal, want to get the client key's. Then a Gateway administrator have to register through API Portal or OAuth manager?
from Dana Crane to Everyone:
You can continue to use the OAuth Manager if you like in order to create clients. Just realize that OAuth Manager clients will not be registered in or tracked by the Portal.
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
@Sravan - Are you looking for a KB article for API Gateway?
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
Question: Is there any separate documentation I can find to SAAS API Gateway? possibly docops or something?
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
@Kristen, Yes! regarding common error scenario if any
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
@Sravan Here's a link to API Gateway KB Articles: http://www.ca.com/us/support/ca-support-online/support-by-product/ca-api-management-gateway.aspx
from Dana Crane to Everyone:
If you're looking for the technical docs on the docops site, you want to go to: https://docops.ca.com/ca-api-management-saas/en
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
SaaS KB Articles can be found here: http://www.ca.com/us/support/ca-support-online/support-by-product/ca-api-management-saas.aspx
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
Thank you Kristen and Dana!
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
@Charles - Are there any KB article on how to implement a common “error” policy fragment so that policies can include this particular fragment and utilize common error handling?
from Colleen Doyle (CA Edu) to Everyone:

from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
I believe there is something on communities or the kb forum for policy fragments, but I dont think its specific to error handling. It would probably be a good idea to open an issue since I would want to know more details on how they want to treat the error and I assume its to not re-write it over and over aka the fragment.
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
Thank you Charles!
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
what is the main difference between Audit and Log in the "Add Audit details assertion"
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
Is there a way to use service debugger for encapsulated assertion?
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
https://docops.ca.com/ca-api-gateway/9-1/en/policy-assertions/assertion-palette/logging-auditing-and-alerts/add-audit-detail-assertion
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
So audit sends to the audit sink (which can be different) log sends it to the gateway log sink.
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
Thanks Again Charles! My understanding is perfect in that case!
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
Service debugger not at the moment to my knowledge.

from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
Is that a expected functionality whenever updating the documentation, when I click on Publish Page it wont refresh the page when the request is completed?
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
I assume you are talking about portal?
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
api portal.
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
@Charles, Yes! I'm talking about API Portal. Sorry for not mentioning
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
15 minutes left! Get your final questions in now!
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
From what I know it tends to be a browser cache issue. But I would have to ask my portal expert and he is away from his desk apologetically.
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
I have done some work on portal and brower cache seems to cause many of the refresh related problems I have seen.
from Carina to Everyone:
Hi @Sravan, yes, it's usually a cache issue.
from Carina to Everyone:
a quick way to verify it is opening the page in incognito mode
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
@Carina and Charles, thank you! Is there any ways that can be resolved. I did tried in incognito and same behavior
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
Was incognito done after the upload or before?
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
Usually the times I have done portal work I update it.
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
Then open a new incognito window to check the updates to ensure the other browser cache doesnt interfere.
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
So I just confirmed with someone. And if its published
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
Make sure it wasnt just staged.
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
There are 2 tiers staging / published. But if its published and doesnt show the updates the main suspect without troubleshooting would indeed be browser cache.
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
I'm publishing from staging to published. when I complete my changes to the documentation and try to click Publish page, it wont refresh the page to respond or acknowledge that it is pushed to published or the request for publish is success.
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
I have tried in Incognito and verified it still has same functionality!
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
Probably be good to open an issue on that as well.
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
I would think we would want to review the catalina logs and see whats happening.
from Charles Lilienkamp to Everyone:
from the portal side.
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
ok Thank you Charles!
from Kristen Palazzolo (CA) to Everyone:
Alright - That's all the time we have for today! Thanks for joining this month's Office Hours session. Join us again next month and we hope to see some of you at CA World!
from Sravan Kanumuri to Everyone:
Thanks everyone for answering questions and conducting this sessions!
