Tech Tip : CA Single Sign-On : Seeing AgentInstance errors after disabling Agent Discovery feature

Apr 26, 2017 06:25 AM

Issue:

We're having errors like the following with AgentInstance objects :

[XPSLDAP.cpp:1141][CXPSLDAP::Create][ERROR][sm-xpsxps-01080] Error occurred during "Add" for "xpsXID=CA.SM::AgentInstance@PS-0000000000000000000000005c00855a-mytrustedhost.com-2/0xt\+V2\+ZX5yvJcB8bo6SdSg2Xh6yLhrgiJtPjW\+rs\=,ou=XPS,ou=policysvr4,ou=siteminder,ou=netegrity,o=sso", text: Invalid DN syntax

After we disabled the Agent Discovery feature, we are still seeing those errors. Why is this happening and how can we fix this?

Environment:

Policy Server : R12.52 SP1

Cause:

The errors are still appearing as the data is still in the Policy Server cache, and as long it is in the cache, the Policy Server will try to insert the object in the Policy Store.

Resolution:

Restarting the Policy Server to clean its cache solved the issue.
