Migrate Advanced Authentication Application Server from Windows to Linux

Oct 13, 2017 05:58 PM

1) Install the riskserver or strongAuth server on the linux machine. Only an installation is required. This is required to create the configuration files that will be used by the applications like arcotadmin deployed on app server to connect to the arcot database. There is no need to start the strongauth or riskAuth services. The applications like arcotadmin read the arcotcommon.ini file to get the database details.

2) Deploy all the applications on the new application server that is installed on linux that old application server had(you can copy same war files from windows environment to the linux app server)
The applications may include:
- arcotadmin
- arcotuds
- arcotSM
- arcotAFM
- arcotAFMWizard

3) For arcotSm you will need to create a JNDI connection in server.xml of the app server. This is required for the state manager to make connections to the DB. Below is the link to do the same:
"https://docops.ca.com/ca-advanced-authentication/8-1-3/EN/installation/ca-adapter-installation/deploying-and-configuring-state-manager/creating-a-jndi-connection"
The above must have already created in your existing setup, you should be able to just copy it into the new server.xml

4) You app server host name may change therefore you will have to change the host name in

   - adaptershim.ini

   - arcotafm.properties

   - For uds connectivity you will need to change the host name in "UDS Connectiviry" screen on the admin console to the new host.
