Creating a Unix Account with specific UID

This document applies to the Identity Manager Unix V2 connector. 

When creating a new account and you want to specify the UID for the user rather than have it auto assigned, it is not enough to enter a number in the UID Field. 

You must first change the settings on the account General Tab 2 or in the Account Template to set the parameter 'UID Mode' 

Set this drop down value to "Set UID "
The UID Mode is set by default to use the next free UID.
If you don't change the mode, then the UID will be selected for you.
