Symantec Access Management

Tech Tip : CA Single Sign-On : Policy Server fails to generate metrics/statistics for APM user store that is configured in a directory mapping

Dec 01, 2017 03:36 AM

Issue:

We're running a Policy Server with CA APM (Wily) integrated. But

Policy Server doesn't generate the metrics related to User store to APM Introscope provider.

For our Use Case, when the User Store is in a Directory Mapping, no

statistics are produced for the given User Store.

Why do we have such behavior ? Is there any way to fix it?

Environment:

Policy Server 12.52CR00 on Windows 2008; User Store on CA directory r12.0 SP2 Build 4076; Introscope Agent 8.0.2.0 installted on Windows 2008; Introscope manager 12.0.4.0 installed on Windows 2008;

Cause:

In the code, the Policy Server consider same Directory for

Authentication and Authorization. Thus when a Directory Mapping is

used with Authentication and Authorization to point to different User

Stores, the Policy Server does not have the Event Metric triggered.

The code has been modified to trigger the User Store Access Event when

Authorization is done through a Directory Mapping.

Resolution:

This issue has been fixed in Policy Server 12.52 SP1 CR8. Upgrade the Policy Server to that version to solve the issue.
