Thank you to the support team for being available to answer questions from the community MichaelBoehm Brahma Shaheen_Ahmed

from Melissa Potvin (CA) to everyone: hi Everyone, welcome to askCA for CA Service Operations Insight! We can go ahead and get started.

from Melissa Potvin (CA) to everyone: I have the support team with me, so feel free to ask questions.

from Maria to everyone: Will the view for topology be updated to display multiple sub-services?

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: +1 to Maria's question. I had raised this quesiton a long time ago as my CEO who loved SOI wanted this feature..

from John Schutz to everyone: Do you think that in the future there will be a way of deleting relationships using Universal Connector CLI

from John Schutz to everyone: re TEC567988

from Shaheen Ahmed to everyone: @Maria I think it is in the backlog for future implementation, no ETA

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: Maria: https://communities.ca.com/ideas/235718338

from Michael Boehm to everyone: @John: can you explain what exaxctly you mean with that? according to my knowledge you can delete Relationships with the UC.

from Maria to everyone: Thank you. Please let me know if there is any voting or anything I can do to move this along.

from John Schutz to everyone: if you review TEC567988 ... there is no such feature to remove a relationship

from Michael Boehm to everyone: @john: ok let me double check and come back to you.

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: @Maria yeah if you cna just upvote it. I'll also bump it and if you comment on it should get it to the top of the community as well again.

from Shaheen Ahmed to everyone: @Maria You should vote on the idea

from Melissa Potvin (CA) to everyone: @Maria, Dan is correct. Vote on the idea and add your perspective as a comment so product management can see/read/understand your point of view.

from Maria to everyone: thank you. I will

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: Just curious, I'm using the Global Deliver UIM connector still and we are looking to move off and use the GA UIM connector. We don't need any of the additional classes such as filesystem, log, memory, cpu so could I just take the GD Policy i have in place and replace the entire GA Policy with it? just a straight copy paste?

from Michael Boehm to everyone: @Daniel: the GD Policy ist not at all compatible to the GA Connector. you have to modify the connector configuration and mapping files to achiev removing the additional classes.

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: oh! ok thanks Mike... I'll need to figure that out then.. I got the post where you suggested thsi in the community...

from Michael Boehm to everyone: @Daniel: have a look here: https://docops.ca.com/soi-connectors/ca-unified-infrastructure-management-uim-connector-3-8-1/add-additional-ca-uim-ci-types. It explains how to add. use the oposite way and remove (comment out) the parts

from Melissa Potvin (CA) to everyone: Would anyone have any more questions?

from Michael Boehm to everyone: @John: I looked at the TecDoc, and you are right. It does not seem to be supported direclty via UC. only via WebServices call

from Maria to everyone: I'm having issues getting to CA Communities. I could in the past and am checking if it is an internal issue. Did something change within the site?

from John Schutz to everyone: so there is bit of gap with functionally, you need to revert to WSMAN (which will not be enhanced)

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: hows the conversion of the Dashboard to HTML5 going? Anything new to show? will it be converted in next release?

from Melissa Potvin (CA) to everyone: @Maria, hi there - nothing changed but do let me know what issues you are having exactly. you can email me directly at melissa.potvin@ca.com

from Maria to everyone: Thank you. I will

from John Schutz to everyone: if you try and manage services with UC, adds services, CI and relationship then try and delete you are left with them still in the modeller, delete the child CI and it becomes unmanaged (greyed out) .. no UC projection

from John Schutz to everyone: the only way to get rid of the relationship is to delete the parent CI ...

from John Schutz to everyone: try it

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: @Michael, so with the GA UIM Policy, today I make use of the TenantID field and populate that with the client HUB Origin property, If I wanted to populate the TenantID on ALL possible CI's created using this policy I would just need to add that contition in the <ITEM> section of the policy and then all sub-classes should inherit that correct?

from Michael Boehm to everyone: @Daniel: The Dashboards in HTML5 are available via JasperReports.

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: Oh so your not updating the flash content on the SOI UI page?

from Michael Boehm to everyone: @John: I atotally agree with you. but this would be an enhancemetn request for the UC.

from Michael Boehm to everyone: @Daniel: According to Product Management currently it is not on the roadmap to update the Flash page.

from John Schutz to everyone: please can some one raise this for me

from Michael Boehm to everyone: @Daniel (related to UIM Connector): that is corecct with the Item class.

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: ok thx Michael..

from Melissa Potvin (CA) to everyone: @John, it's honestly best that you author the idea in the community. are you familiar?

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: what filed in the GA UIM .conf file turns off the connectors ability to close alerts on the UIM side? I just installed it and didn't start it up yet b/c I need to disable "isRemoteable" option but I don't see it in teh conf file..

from John Schutz to everyone: Indeed ... but I need to make sure it is actioned and tracked and that it has a sponsor

from Brahma to everyone: @Daniel, IsRemotable flag is available on Connector controls page or you may hit 'Save' button then it updates the configuation file

from Michael Boehm to everyone: @Daniel: we are just checking on our system to tell you the file where it is configured

from Shaheen Ahmed to everyone: @Daniel you shoulr find the " <ns2:property name="isRemotable" value="1"/>"

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: Brahma right but if I want to set it before I turn on the connector as a precaution b/c it's pointing to UIM PROD.

from Shaheen Ahmed to everyone: in the Nimsoftconnector.conf

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: it should be in this one right?

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\Catalyst\CatalystConnector\registry\topology\physical\SOI-CNTR03_CatalystConnector\modules\configuration\Nimsoftconnector.conf

from Shaheen Ahmed to everyone: yes

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: weird its not in there..

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: maybe its added > the 1st time its started up...

from Shaheen Ahmed to everyone: @Daniel You can probably add the lines directly in the file but make sure the SOIState shows disabled. Here is a snipet from my file

from Shaheen Ahmed to everyone: <ns2:ModuleName>CA:00050</ns2:ModuleName>
<ns2:ModuleInstance>Hostname123</ns2:ModuleInstance>
<ns2:ModuleProperties>
<ns2:property name="SOIState" value="Enabled"/>
<ns2:property name="LoadUSMTypes" value="false"/>
<ns2:property name="useAlertFilter" value="0"/>
<ns2:property name="UILabel" value="Unified Infrastructure Management(UIM) connector"/>
<ns2:property name="useEnumeratedGet" value="0"/>
<ns2:property name="DisableUSMValidation" value="true"/>
<ns2:property name="DisableDelta" value="true"/>
<ns2:property name="isRemotable" value="1"/>
<ns2:property name="retryBeforeFatal" value="5"/>
<ns2:property name="useServiceFilter" value="1"/>
<ns2:property name="waitBeforeRetry" value="30"/>
<ns2:property name="performDeltaProcessing" value="0"/>
</ns2:ModuleProperties>

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: weird I don't have that section either... I'll start it and then see if it gets added...

from Daniel Blanco to everyone: thanks though

from Melissa Potvin (CA) to everyone: so we have about 5 minutes left, any final questions?

from Melissa Potvin (CA) to everyone: good questions and thank you for joining today... additional questions can come into the community please .. https://communities.ca.com/community/ca-service-operations-insight-soi

from Melissa Potvin (CA) to everyone: have a great day everyone!
