UMP Installation won't complete: ERROR: CRC check failed on 'Package:ump

Issue:
When I try to install UMP the 'Prepare Packages' step is completing successfully but then the 'Deploying' step is getting to either 5% or 9% and then not going any further.
I can see on the server that I'm deploying UMP to that the WASP probe has been deployed but it's not started at that point.

ump install log shows:

Error while waiting for job: java.lang.NullPointerException
Environment:
UIM 8.5.1 
UMP 8.5.1
 
Cause:
An Anti-Virus or Malware protection running int he background (hidden) on the UMP server might be blocking the install.
Resolution:
Some environments may run hidden Anti-Virus. If an hidden Anti-virus is running on the target UMP Server, the ump install might not be successful.
Check if there is any hidden Anti-Virus on the system (Example: Cisco Advanced Malware Protection - AMP), disable it, and test the UMP install again.
