Tech Tip: alarm from custom checkpoint in oracle probe when multi rows are returned.

Mar 15, 2018 07:40 AM

i have custom query which would produce multiple rows. I want to be notified by UIM alarm when value on specific column has breached my specific threshold.

i describe caveat on this on oracle probe setting.

example

in this example, i want UIM alarm which row has breached my threshold (15 or more)

i assume there is no mistake in my configuration, but i do not get any alerts. what is wrong ?

in the above senario, oracle probe publish alert for 2nd and 3rd row but using the same suppression key,

so there will be no outcome i desire.

How to make uniquely identified suppression key assigned for these alerts ?

i need to use uniquely identified column name for Row identification field.

Row identification makes suppression key unique as it take part of suppression key.

in my case, value in process_name column is uniquely identifiable.

finally i got outcome what i wanted.
