Tech Tip : CA Single Sign-On : Could not set encryption context during initialization

Issue:


We are observing below errors in the webagent log:

[49015/1212126976][Fri Aug 17 2018 10:22:02][CSmAdminManager.cpp:987][ERROR][sm-AgentFramework-00930] ADMIN: Could not set encryption context during initialization. [49015/1212126976][Fri Aug 17 2018 10:22:02][CSmHighLevelAgent.cpp:122][ERROR][sm-AgentFramework-00400] HLA: Failed to initialize 'Administration Manager'.

 

How can we resolve this error?

 

 

Cause

 

The error is logged as a child process crashed, or a problem with the semaphores or shared memory.

In our case, the domain controllers were not available and so the Policy Servers were also not available.

 


Resolution


Restarting the domain controllers and the Policy Servers resolved the issue.
