In this session we will discuss Trap X support with some use cases followed by demo on our environment.

Great that were having a session to discuss the resurrection of Trap Exploder.
A couple of use cases from my current customer are as follows:
We are currently using trapExploder to NAT the source Address from a Console in the Cloud ( whose IP address changes.)
TapExploder forwards the NATed trap to a Local SDC- which forwards the trap through the firewall to the Active SpectroSERVER in the Core. ( Primary or Secondary of the Pair )
The SDC is setup redundant with a second installation ( TrapX + SDC ) Paired with the FT SpectroSERVER as its Primary.
The new functionality would need 4 systems for each instance ( 12 World wide ) vs. the 6 we are using for the solution today ?
Second use case:
We are receiving traps from many Integration points and Network devices aimed at a pair of Fault Tolerant SpectroSERVERs running Trap Director.
Some of those Integration us the Scripting capability of trap Exploder to modify the incoming trap Variable.
We must install Trap Exploder on the SpectroSERVERS - because we cannot change all the trap destination WorldWide.
We need to have the ability to use :
- trapExploder Independently - on or off a SpectroSERVER
- trapExploder with SDC support for SNMPv3 profiles - on or off a SpectroSERVER
- trapExploder and SDC with polling functionality and Support for SNMPv3 profiles
No need to reply to these questions now , if they will be addressed in the discussion - unless you want to take care of them before hand.
