Use Exchange Web Services in addition to or instead of POP3 for mail eater
In addition to on-premise Exchange - where customers have dropped POP3 and IMAP4 for security reason; we now have requests to support customers as they move to Office 365.
I was directed to the following TEC doc which explains how to connect to Office 365 via IMAP. This was not returned in a search from the Communities, so I will add it as a discussion link.
This original request is over 4 years old.
Chris.Elmore, J_W -
Please confirm whether the technical document Connecting Maileater to Office 365 Mail addresses this requirement.
Carol, so far our customers are able to use IMAP4 and TLS with Office 365 Mail. The updated TECCDOC addresses the recent maileater failures.
I don't know if there is still a demand/need for using web services for connections by other users. I consider this DELIVERED but I am not the Idea author.
Thank you for the reply and input; it is much appreciated. I will see what Chris (Idea author) has for feedback.
Given that the product now provides support for IMAP4 and TLS with Office 365 Mail, we will be updating the stage to "not planned".
If there is a requirement that we are not meeting with the current approach, please provide additional detail and we will consider re-opening this Idea.
In the meantime, there are several Ideas already posted surrounding both inbound and outbound email processing. We encourage you to review, comment, and vote on these ideas to help us with our product roadmap planning.
