It should be possible to add attachments by drag and drop.
Thanks in advacnce.
Some time ago I digged deeper into this topic.
One major question to be answered is which browsers need to be supported.
For Internet Explorer 8 and other older browser versions the only way to have usefull drag&drop or copy&paste funcionality with objects sitting somewhere outside of the browsers window (like files on the desktop) is by using an applet which again needs to be authorized by the browser (ie. certificate) for proper access.
There should be some open source libraries out there to make things a bit easier to implement.
Voting up because the basic idea - drag and drop to add attachments - to me is desirable and clear, even if implementing it is . . . tricky. That's why we have clever devs. and inter-company working parties.
where is another way to get drag & drop working for internet explorer. You can use Browser Helper Object - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia to implement drag & drop. We have implement drag & drop for web applications (IE, Firefox) many years ago. It is not really tricky...
We have added new capabilities to Attachments in Service Desk Manager 14.1 that may address this request.
We will add this idea to our backlog for our future user experience efforts.
