Our organization has a user base that fluctuates between 8000 and 10000 users. We are currently using CA Service Desk Manager as our incident/request/change management system.
We recently adopted Google Apps Enterprise as our primary platform. As part of this conversion, many of our users are replacing their computers with Chromebooks and Chromeboxes. These devices use ChromeOS and a fairly standard Chrome browser.
From these devices, the CASDM serves the PDA interface, which is not well received due to its minimalistic feature set and style. As a result, the CASDM tool is becoming quickly obsceleted-- initiating conversations about replacing the tool in the near future.
If support for Chrome devices was on the roadmap, these conversations would not go far, but as it is, they are becoming more common and the value of our CASDM tool is being questioned more frequently and at increasingly higher levels within the company.
