Currently, Unix agent supports only password encryption using MD5.

For Redhat 6, the encryption algorithms are SHA256 and SHA512. When a CA endpoint agent installed on Redhat 6.x, all accounts have status shown Manual (instead of Active) in Provisioning Manager. This is due to the fact that the agent support only MD5 which is used in older Linux versions, such as 5.x and earlier.

Unix agentless (UnixV2) does support SHA256 and SHA512 on Redhat 6. However, customer's client does not allow to use agentless for some reason.

Therefore, they request to have Unix agent also supports SHA256 and SHA512.
