I don't have the time to look, but it would be helpful to lock the discussion when it's resolved.
If users want help, they should start a new discussion. I'm not sure if members have the option of branching so that may not be an option to them.
The distinction being between a discussion and a question ; a discussion can be an ongoing topic of conversation, whereas a question can be answered (and thus locked).
If the original question-raising user unmarks a "correct answer" then the topic should be open again perhaps?
You are correct David; I mean a question as opposed to a discussion. But there is no link to start a question, it appears in the UI as a discussion, hence my title.
Gosh no! How would you correct, or add to a discussion - we want to encourage people to search the streams, not find dead ends
This idea has been marked as Not Planned. There are many reasons to keep a question open, even after a correct answer has been indicated. We encourage these conversations to continue to account for product upgrades, changes in technology, etc.
I agree - too often the first answer is considered only, and it looks closed - there should always be an option to improve on it.
like anything. there's an answer.. there's "THE" answer. and then there's everything else.
