Trying to integrate SSO product for user authentication. SSO requires SAML 2.0 but Service Desk only supports earlier 1.0. Can this be added soon? !
it would be great
This idea is being Wish-Listed for potential inclusion in a future release.
Wish-listed ideas are selected for inclusion in a release based on multiple factors including - number of votes from community members, alignment of idea with a release's themes and goals, complexities and risks involved in implementing the idea, so a timeframe for availability of the idea as a product feature/functionality cannot be provided.
This facility of SAML 2.0 is very basic and must have in product.
Hi! Great!.This Applies for SDM 14.1 ? at least is for this year?
Due to the work involved in this enhancement, this is planned for the next release.
We are pleased to announce the inclusion of this feature with the 17.1 release today. For more information, please refer to Enable SAML Authentication for xFlow Interface - CA Service Management - 17.1 - CA Technologies Documentation .
it was nice to hear that CA Service Management 17.1 provides Single Sign-On capabilities for CA Service Desk Manager (CA SDM) and CA xFlow Analyst Interface (CA xFlow) via SAML 2.0.
But what's with CA Service Catalog? Isn't it a part of CA Service Management?
We need this feature really urgent.
Hi tom.halang - As the current authentication methods are different for each part of the Service Management solution, we can't implement a single approach across the suite. However, our overall goal is to make this consistent across the different parts. While this is in our backlog, you may wish to consider adding an Idea in the Community for Service Catalog as the voting will help us understand the demand for this feature.
I know that the authentification methods are different
but it should be obvious that every part should have the same methods
when you talk about one Service Management Solution.
You said that you plan a consistent authentification accross the the different parts
and that catalog is still on your backlog. What's the timeframe for this?
And why should I open an idea for the Topic when it's already on your backlog?
Hi tom.halang -
You don't have to post the idea for consideration in the backlog. I only posed this option as a way for other customers to voice their interest and to help drive prioritization across all of the solution backlog. As for timeframe, we are still in discussions about this.
