Limit Selectable Configuration Items to a Specific Request/Incident Area

    I would like to suggest functionality within SDM that would allow for the ability to limit the selection of Configuration Items based on the Request Area.  For example, if an Incident Area of "Application ABC" is used, you would be able to filter and limit the Configuration Item selected on the Incident/Request record to only those that are associated to the application (specific servers, services, etc...).  Another possible limitation could be by Family or Class.  I believe this would be a benefit to large organizations like mine with 70,000 plus configuration items, taking some of the guess work out of the request/incident management process, saving a lot of time for Service Desk staff.
