I am currently a member in 2 communities because I am a board member and was assigned to these 2 communities. I am not a community member on the community that I am a board member.
"Joining" is now "Following". Please refer to the below section of the Training. Hopefully this helps
OK, thanks, Chris. It is a little confusing when I look at COMMUNITIES and it shows me Following 5 communities and Group Member of 2 of the same 5 communities. So, I am trying to be "logical" AGAIN...
There is a small difference between Communities (originally called Places on the Jive platform) and Groups. Only Groups can have restricted access (private or secret), but they have less features while Communities have all the features but can't be restricted and don't have a membership concept so are always open to anyone. So anything that was restricted in some way on the old platform is now a Group and all the open Communities from the old platform are also Communities on the new platform. Maybe that makes it more logical
If you feel as though your question has been answered by either Chris or Michiel's response, could you please mark either as correct? Marking answers as correct helps other users to avoid asking the same question and also helps my team to determine which questions are resolved vs. which still need to be answered.
The question was already marked as answered, when I replied to Chris(??????).
Hmm...did you click the "Correct Answer" link from within Chris's reply? If so, it may have just been a glitch in the system because the question is still appearing as unanswered to me. I will mark the answer as correct for you. Thank you!
I didn't have the chance to click the Correct Answer, someone else must have done that. Chris did correctly answer it.
