allen bollinger to Everyone:         good afternoon everyone. Is there a future for child portfolio showing or rolling up in the future beyond v13.3? Current version simply allows one to link or associate a child portfolio to a parent.

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @allen bollinger : Hi Allen, I just published a KB article. TEC615513 and at this time, we do not have any information on a timeline for expanding the feature for child portfolio

allen bollinger to Everyone:         @Kathryn Ellis. Thanks for the updated information

Vivian Fulk to Everyone:               I am trying to relate the table name, attribute name to the object name. What table is available to do this? I want the view that is available in the administrator side like when you bring up the project object which shows the DB attribute name and the DB table name.

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @Vivian Fulk : Have you checked the Technical Reference Entity Relationship Diagram?  I will see if it has this relationship

Vivian Fulk to Everyone:               @Kathryn Ellis - I have looked at the CMN tables but can not seem to relate the object to the table name

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ Vivian Fulk : Regarding your goal to create a portlet that shows the Database table name, attribute name, this is really the same as using the database 'describe table' functionality. You should be able to learn how to create some queries from the internet for pulling table schema data.

Vivian Fulk to Everyone:               @Kathryn Ellis- I join the ODF_VIEW_ATTRIBUTES to INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS on COLUMN_NAME but the attribute_name is not unique. So I need to know the tables associated with the object.

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ Vivian Fulk : If it is a custom object, let's say 'Apple' is your object, there would be a table 'odf_ca_apple' for the attributes

Vivian Fulk to Everyone:               @Kathryn Ellis - Lets say I have the project object and I need to know all the DB tables associated to it. Whre would I go to get that info?

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ Vivian Fulk : The 'project' object is well described in the Entity Relationship Diagram.  This is a system object that has built-in stuff and may have more tables than a simple custom studio object table

lalatendu.bishoyi to Everyone:  @vivian:: another way  is take SQL trace of all the project pages....

Vivian Fulk to Everyone:               @Kathryn Ellis - I am writing a query for ALL object though. So I need the relationship of the OBJECT to the DB tables.

Vivian Fulk to Everyone:               @Kathryn Ellis- I am using this INNER JOIN INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS COL

ON ODF_VIEW_ATTRIBUTES.ATTRIBUTE_CODE = COL.COLUMN_NAME  but it is not unique.

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ Vivian Fulk : I don't think you would be able to create a general query.  you may have to develop sub queries to get some of the system object tables. Another thing you might do is run Clarity Action Trace on the Studio, Attributes List page ---- this may give you what you want

Vivian Fulk to Everyone:               @Kathryn Ellis - THANK YOU. I have been running lots of traces but did not know about this one.

Nei Villas Boas to Everyone:        Hi all. Does anyone has a XOG to object´s views? After ADD-IN update I will need to restore some object´s views

Nei Villas Boas to Everyone:        as idea, project, status report, etc...

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @Nei Villas : The 'content' XOG accomplishes this task... there are separate XML files that have examples such as 'property_view_read.xml' or 'list_view_read.xml'

Nei Villas Boas to Everyone:        @Kathryn tanks!

Patrick  Becker to Everyone:       With updates to OWB Client in recent v13 patch releases, our team would like to know if a clear version can be displayed.  In Control Panel / Program & Features ...we just see v2.1.1 and in the OWB about feature we see 2.1.1 (13.3.0.286 04 3).  I assume the latter info is a build # but it sure would be nice to have cntrl panel and sw say the same thing to ensure alignment of client sw in our environment.  thoughts?

John W. George (ca) to Everyone:            @Patrick - we unfortunately do not have support personnel on this call to help with your questions. I would like to suggest to you to put your question on the Community Site to see if others may be able to help. I hope this helps.

    1. lalatendu.bishoyi to Everyone:  Hi, I found some basic functionality is not available in the infoview  of CABI 3.3 rather than BI 3.3 ( originally come with SAP) Is there any specific reason for this?

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @lalatendu.bishoyi : We are researching the answer to your question.

                    lalatendu.bishoyi to Everyone:  Ok...

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @lalatendu.bishoyi : Do you have any specific examples on what is 'not available'.... is it not there or just 'greyed' out ?

lalatendu.bishoyi to Everyone:  @Karhryn:: Merge option of two cells of cross tab is not available.

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @lalatendu.bishoyi : regarding the limited functionality in CABI --- we do not have the full functionality of BO and also some options are greyed out due to the version of Java we are using for Clarity.

                    lalatendu.bishoyi to Everyone:  @kathryn:: tx

Donald Nelson to Everyone:       Hello, Is there published best practice documentation for Clarity technical work (e.g., no. of columns to select for a portlet, no. of fields to use in a portlet filter, how to adequately comment custom NSQL).  I recall seeing a document recently, but can't seem to track it down.

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @Donald Nelson : There is no specific guidelines because it is dependent on the number of columns AND the amount of data rows using these columns.  Therefore it will exponentially grow.  It is recommended to create smaller list views or page views to keep the performance from degrading. Using a copy of your production system with the amount of data you have could help you in building out these views.  Then if you need to have more information in one place, you could use scheduled reporting to meet your needs.

Donald Nelson to Everyone:       @Kathryn, ty

Nei Villas Boas to Everyone:        About SPI: I have only 2 task in a schedule: one with ETC = 100 (development hours) and other with ETC = 500.000 (expense Capital expediture).  recording a base line I will have ETC = 500.100, so with actuals for task 1 (ETC=100) my SPI only will be correct when I post WIP to TASK 2 (ETC=500.000).

In this case ACTUALS to task 1 are posted by timesheet (daily) but ACTUAS to task 2 is posted by WIP (monthly).

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @Nei Villas : This may require more specific details or use-case scenario explanation.  Can you please describe more details within a community posting.  We can then spend more time to analyze and provide a response.

Nei Villas Boas to Everyone:        @Kathryn.Ok.

Patrick  Becker to Everyone:       I have a question for you.  Can you help share your experiences with the v13 auto-fill logic for lookups fields.  My experience has been that for some lookup attributes is works quite well but for other values it doesn't.  For example...typing CA in one of our financial location attributes will result in proper auto suggestion display of CANADA and CASABLANCA, however if i type CAN in the same exact field the auto suggest will not display the auto suggest value of CANADA at all.

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @Patrick  Becker : I feel that you need to log a support case for this issue with auto-suggest. It may be an issue due to configuration or other cause.

Kevin Browne to Everyone:         I noticed a change recently, when I return back to a screen I was working on, the cursor is now at the begininng of the field I was typing in. It used to be that the whole field was highlighted and I could just type without having to select & delete the field first. Anyway to change that back?

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ Kevin Browne : are you comparing v12 to v13 ? are you using a different browser type ?

Kevin Browne to Everyone:         I am using Google Chrome, haven't tried it in IE yet

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ Kevin Browne : Did something change in your environment recently? an upgrade, patch, server maintenance?

Kevin Browne to Everyone:         @Kathryn I think that is possible. I am checking on that. I was out of office around that time

Kevin Browne to Everyone:         @Kathryn we had a release around that time, but not an upgrade or patch, etc

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ Kevin Browne : okay, I don't think there is a way to change the behavior through configuration within the application

Kevin Browne to Everyone:         @Kathryn, ok thank you. Possible idea for guys to keep in mind. It saves only seconds, but multiply that by the amount of times per day and it adds up.

Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone:                @Kevin - You would want to post your request to the Ideas in the community to get it in front of Product Management

Chris Hackett (CA) to Everyone:                For those who may have missed it check out the CA Clarity Tuesday Tip: Live Chat with an Engineer - https://communities.ca.com/thread/117348090

Laurel Ramiro to Everyone:         Question, Is there an eay way to setup the datasource of custom BOE reports when moving servers?  When I use the Import wizard I select the destination of the new environment but it doesn't change the datasource locations to the new server.

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ Laurel Ramiro : You may need to log a support case for your question so that you can get specific steps.

lalatendu.bishoyi to Everyone:  @Laurel:: Have you installed 32 bit oracle client on new server. And also put the TNS entry...?

Laurel Ramiro to Everyone:         @lalatendu.bishoyi Yes I have but it doesn't automatically change the datasource so I have top open every report and change the DB table to point to the new server then through the CMS

John Pendergast to Everyone:   We have created a security profile called, "All Project Manager" - we want to assign rights for project managers in the Team tab>Actions>Views>Timesheet Review page and portlet.  We have tried to add those rights to the group, but no luck in making it work.  We have assigned the group Instance rights to the object Page, with rights to Dashboard - Edit, Page - View, Page Definition Editor, Page Definition Viewerfor Timesheet Review, Timesheet Notes and Timesheet Overview; Portlet: Portet - Edit, Portlet - View and Portlet Definition Editor to Timesheet Review, Timesheet Notes, Investment Timesheet Summary, Investment Timesheet Review, and Timesheet Overview Filter

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @  John Pendergast : Please log a support case so that an engineer can spend dedicated time in a web session to go over your configuration details.

truhan to Everyone:       After upgrading to 13.3, all schedules that run reports were cancelled.  Most of the schedules were created by the end-users.  The only way we had to resolve this was to ask them to recreate the schedules.  For next time, is there any other around this?

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ venita truhan : what version did you upgrade from?

Laurel Ramiro to Everyone:         @venita truhan, good question, i have the same problem.  We upgraded from 12.1.2

venita truhan to Everyone:          @Kathryn Ellis:  13.1

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ venita truhan : so the status of the jobs were set to 'cancelled' ?

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ venita truhan : it may be due to changes in the functionality required the jobs to be cancelled

August 14, 2014                    10:46:46 AM       from Vivian Fulk to Everyone:                @Kathryn Ellis - THANK YOU. I have been running lots of traces but did not know about this one.

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ venita truhan : For future, I don't know if there is a way to know if the jobs get cancelled.  When you do the upgrade on a test server, check it out and plan for it.  There may be a reason the upgrade changes the status.

    1. lalatendu.bishoyi to Everyone:  @venita:: I think before upgrade users has not paused their scheduled reports.. The best way to upgrade is pause all the scheduled reports & jobs and after upgrade resume it...

venita truhan to Everyone:          @Kathryn Ellis:  All were cancelled, yes, and not by us.  I say no changes to functionality and didn't see any reference to this in the upgrade documentation.  Just wondering if there is a way to avoid this.

Laurel Ramiro to Everyone:         @kathryn Ellis, is there a way to save the schedules when upgrading and moving servesr?

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ venita truhan : I would log a case for this question to see if we can engage our development team for an explanation as to why this happens for specific upgrade path.  And we can get this in front of product manager to check documentations for release notes and change impact upgrade guides

    1. lalatendu.bishoyi to Everyone:  @venita:: yes you can avoid this by pause the scheduled reports before upgrade and after upgrade resume them...

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         @ Laurel Ramiro : no way to save schedules. you might print out or query the schedule table to see the dates.

Laurel Ramiro to Everyone:         Question, When using Gel Script to send email, if an email is repeated the email won't send.  What would cause the Process Trigger to stop working.

Kathryn Ellis (ca technologies) to Everyone:         For those who may have missed it check out the CA Clarity Tuesday Tip: Live Chat with an Engineer - https://communities.ca.com/thread/117348090
