    Looking for some know settings or best practices for utilizing the alerts feature in RA 9.0 for just alerting on over threshold interfaces, say 60% and 90%.  Thanks.

    Essentially, the only notification engine in NFA is through traps. You configure the threshold to send the trap to NPC/EM or CAPC/EM or Spectrum or some other trap receiver then use that system to intelligently notify you via email.

    For RA 9.0 you would set the "Trap Destination" in the "Admin->Application Setting" page of RA as the NPC server or the RA console and the events will be sent up to NPC via event manager.

     

    However in the newer versions of NFA if they are linked to CAPC instead of NPC, you would actually need to set 'Trap Destination' to the IP address of the NFA Console server, as CAPC is not a trap receiver.  There was a tech tip posted on this: Tech Tips:  How do I get alerts configured in NFA to show up in CAPC as Events?

     

    Also if you do upgrade to NFA 9.1.3 or 9.2 you may need to follow the doc below:

    NFA Trap Events not translated in NPC Events View
