Thanks, this is informative, and something we could probably (will) use.  I've got a question about the video content.

Did I hear correctly that this integration only supports physical servers at this time?  If we had VMware virtual servers in Nimsoft, would they not be presented in this integration?

Hi Steve,

If the VMs are managed by Nimsoft as hosts and not VMs, you should be able to see it. Customers using this already have come back to us in some instances where they are not seeing the VMs. Actually we completely depend on Nimsoft to send the right computer types to us. In any case, I will review this again and get back.

We have our 9.4.1 release coming up around end of this year that will have support for VMW management.

Thanks for this.  Honestly its a long time coming.  I'd like to see more videos especially those on creating custom alerts, using NCM to backup Cisco devices, and utilizing the full potential of Spectrum beyond a simple UP/DOWN SNMP monitor.

this is very helpful. .. But the voice sounds nearly natural .. it is synthetic. Which Software did You use?
The Video seems to be very professional ... expensive.

Other companies provided more simplified videos,  less graphics, less sales perspective.

Less would probably enaugh. More Videos would be better.

It would be cool to see enablement - videos for Beginners, then for admins and perhaps for special things like combining Spectrum with LDAP or Model-Type-Editor.

Its a good step into the right direction!

Can you please elaborate on your comments on the videos further? I apologize, I could not interpret the comments clearly.

Are you saying that the videos should not be having "natural voiceover"? Also, would be thankful if you explain "Less would probably enaugh. More Videos would be better." as well. Thanks for your time giving us feedback.

sorry for the delay.

The only thing I wanted to say, .. to provide videos is a realy good way which helps the customers, us (partners) and finally CA.

The videos are very stylish, animated etc. everyone could see that these videos are very proferssional (expensive).

Comparing to other companies, other provide more tecnical videos or "practise" / hands-on - videos which were made mostly without animation... from the cost-perspective, your videos could more simple.

Can I suggest you just go down the Spectrum navigation bar and start with Global Collections>Configuration Manager>Policy Manager>Service Performance Manager, and so on. As you go through each of these areas not only give a real-world example on how to configure but also showing how that information can be viewed in CAPC if applicable.

Another idea I'd like to see is how CA uses its own tools to monitor its own network. What lessons have you learned by "eating your own dog food"? What are the best practices that your consultants have learned from working with customers?

This would be something I would like to see also, especially if there's any tricks that they do to make things easier.

Sure, those are good ideas. Actually Spectrum has many reference sites who routinely talk about their usage of Spectrum and how that has helped them derive more value.

We have one of our users, Dave Moser from Blue Cross Blue Shield , talking at CAWorld about how they leverage Spectrum and the new Nimsoft integration.

Good ideas, let me check how we can add these topics to our videos backlog too
