  • 1.  No events from NFA

    Hello

I have setup trap destination in NFA 9.1.3 to CA PC.2.3.2

Alert were configured to send trap if there is no flows for 5 minutes for Group All Interfaces

I also setup a watchdog threshold very low and still no events in CA PC.

I don't get any events in CA PC. I want to forward those events to Spectrum.

    Thanks in advance

    Klaus

    Hello,

CAPC includes its own Event Manager data source, however unlike NPC's Event Manager, CAPC's Event Manager is not a Trap Receiver.

So intead of sending the Traps directly to CAPC, set the Trap Destination to the IP address of the NFA Console.

The Harvesters will send traps to the NFA console, and the NFA Console will then sync the Trap Events up to CAPC.

I had posted a tech tip a few months ago at the link below on how to configure this.

    https://communities.ca.com/web/ca-ehealth-and-ca-spectrum-global-user-community/message-board/-/message_boards/message/101240876?&#p_19

Hopefully this will help.  You may need to recycle the ReporterAnalyzer Manager Service to update the trap destination address.

You should also do a full recync of the Event Manager data source in CAPC.

Or just send the traps directly to Spectrum.

I would think by now the NFA MIB should come pre-compiled in Spectrum, but that may depend on when you did your install.  Yes, there is a MIB. You should be able to find it through the NFA documentation.

Then you'd just configure a trap in NFA for whatever parameters you want. In NFA, all traps have to go to the same destination. You can't configure different destinations for different traps. You configure the destination in the 'application settings' section of the admin gui.

    Hi Manuel,

Have a look at this discussion too: NFA alerts to Spectrum Alarms

What you have to do is set the trap destination to your Spectrum server, import the mib in Spectrum and then configure the events/alarms for the traps. The easiest way to do it in Spectrum is with the Spectrum MIB Tools. It can also be done manually in the config files, see the Spectrum trap mapping document for more information.
