  • 1.  creating tabs on custom objects for all instances

    Hi all,

Does anyone now if/how it is possible to set up Tabs when in edit view of an object so that all instances of the object have the same layout?
Default tabs on my object are Properties Processes and Audit.

I need to create a few more to house sets of attributes (and hopefully sub-object) but I',m not sure how I can do it universally - as a user I can create tabs manually, but they are specific to the particular instance I am looking at.

Alternatively, I was wondering if its possible to do what the Project Properties or Task tab does with sub-pages along the top (Main, Subprojects, dependancies etc.)

    Thanks in advance,
    Matt

"Processes" and "Audit" are stock Tabs - Studio does not let us create new TABs in our custom objects, what we can create is new SUB-PAGES though to split up your object into different "pages" of data.

Depending on your Clarity version (pre-V13 or V13+) these will either render in a list vertically alongside your main object properties (pre V13) or in a drop-down list from the Properties tab itself (V13+)

What you describe as "sub-pages along the top (Main, Subprojects, dependancies etc.)" Clarity actually calls sub-tabs - the sub-pages are the vertical links (lke I describe above) ; sub-objects would also appear as a sub-page link in your custom object.

Check out my response on this thread New Button under Custom Object Views

It shows how to configure the page layout for a Custom Object to add more tabs using newly defined 'properites' views
