  • 1.  Can you build Timesheet favorites or copy the last timesheet submitted?

    Posted Dec 30, 2014 11:20 AM

I can't seem to get the copy timesheet to work.  It doesn't just copy what I submitted from my last timesheet, but from every timesheet I've every submitted.  So I end up with like 30 tasks on it that I have to delete one by one.  I want to copy the previous weeks timesheet, or be able to set up a favorite of here are the 6 most common tasks, and then I can manually add the 1 or 2 others that change week by week.

    Anyway to do this?

    Thanks

Currently the 'Timesheet' functionality is not a Studio Object.  We have an existing idea logged for making the Timesheet into a Studio Object.

Vote for this idea:  Make TIMESHEET a studio object

For the current functionality to 'populate' a timesheet, there is built-in logic that determines which tasks are added.

    Check out the following postings:

Review this idea: Provide option to disable the timesheet "Populate" button logic

Also, there is a possibility to create a XOG write file to create timesheets for resources.  Perhaps the community or our CA Services team might have some ideas on creating a custom solution that will fit your needs.

    I hope this helps you.

    To answer the

    Can you build Timesheet favorites

part of you question. The answer is Yes, but it does not work the way you want.

You can take the URL of a timesheet and make that to a Favorite link.

Say you managed to sweet talk you Clarity admin to open a time period in the distant future and you saved you timesheet for that period with your 6 common tasks. That is fine.

You can open the the timesheet from the link.

There is a dropdown for the timeperiod and as soon as you choose another timeperiod the timesheet will switch to the time sheet of that period and you no longer have your 6 saved tasks on the sheet.

Kind of lost you on this.  So there really isn't a way to default in my 6 favorite tasks each time, so when a new time sheet appears it'll have those 6 on it?  Or to take the last timesheet from whatever period and say mirror or copy this and have the new time period populate with those tasks?

    The short answer is No.

Populate with its options and with fidling when you open for timeentry. assign tasks and the amount of ETC si the only functionality in addition to manual add task.

Can, someone explain then exactly how the Populate option works?  I never seem to be able to get it to do anything that makes sense.  It populates with stuff, but I can't figure out how it works?
