  • 1.  Harvestor disk D out of space

    Hi All,

Is there a quick way to free up space so I can restart my NetQos Harvester?  Perhaps a log area?  I just ran out this morning.  I am running Reporter 9.0 (build 161) Update 1.

    Thanks for any help!

    Diane

The Harvester should maintain at least 2 GB's of free space by default on the D:\ drive.

The registry key below is what controls the free space threshold, by default its set to 2048 mbs

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\NetQoS\RealtimeReaper\MaintainFreeSpaceOnDiskMB

In 9.0 the Reaper service should be controlling the pruning of the data, so you should make sure that service is up and running.

There may be some old files that can be deleted.

You would need supports advice on deleting these though.

We usually ask for a directory listing for review.

Open a command prompt and navigate to the Netflow\Datafiles directory

    Then run

    dir /s > datafiles.txt

Provide the file to support for review.

Sometimes there are older files that will no be processed that can free up some space but as Chris stated the application probably had a crash of the Reaper and the system may no longer be processing files.

Thank you both for your helpful advice.  I opened a ticket with CA Support.  Charles picked it up and we are all good now.  He ended up deleting quite a few  files that weren't being processed.

It looks like the well known problem with the .tbn.bad files in the "ReaperInput" directory.

If it is so, simple restart the reaper service before the harddisk is full. It will process all collected god files.

    And:

Please vote for: NFA Reaper Service, with .tbn.bad files

A great tool to have when trying to diagnose full disks is WinDirStat. It has often helped me find out which directories are full. Knowing that .tbn.bad files are useless helps.
