Hi,

We are planning to upgrade our DEV environment from 13.3 to 14.2

I have created a database schema(ppm_dwh) fro Data Warehouse, still I received below warning when I run checkinstall batch file.

WARNING

Please refer to Installation guide for setting up Datawarehouse with Clarity OLTP database.

Sample commands to create user, tablespaces and import are location in $inatall.dir\checkinstall\check-logs/dwh_setup_information.txt.

Can I ingore this warning and proceed with the installation or do I need to fix anything before?

I am experiencing the same issue with my upgrade.  We are not going to use the data warehouse at this time either.  On one of my tries at the upgrade, the script failed because it tried to call a view which was part of the DWH schema.

Corrected the null pointer exceptions by correcting the properties file as mentioned.. Errors in checkinstall log during Clarity Upgrade to v14.2

Ran the install to upgrade to 14.2..But the warning I mentioned earlier about Data Warehouse was still there..

After completion of the upgrade, I could configure the DB Link from CSA--> Data Warehouse tab..

I will try to run  Load Data Warehouse & Load Data Warehouse Access Rights job tomorrow.

Hi Giri,

I just looked at the checkinstall log ,the warning of DWH shouldn't impact it just alerts to make sure that you create the DWH schema post the installation of CA PPM in order to use the dataware house.

The checkinstall will always issue the following warning to let you know that Datawarehouse has to be created and configured with the correct parameters:

Please refer to Installation guide for setting up Datawarehouse with Clarity OLTP database. Sample commands to create user, tablespaces and import are located in ${localpath}${file.separator}${dwh_create_database_filepath}."/>

In the checkinstall scripts: the above warning is always issued, depending on your database vendor type, and you will always get the checkinstall/check-logs/dwh_setup_information.txt file, advising you with the queries on how to create and set up your DWH user.

You should not be concerned by this, if you followed the setup correctly prior to the upgrade : please keep the configuration of your environment going and let me know in case of any issue.

We have upgraded to 14.2 in our DEV Environment and trying to setup the DB Link in Data Warehouse.

Our database is RAC. DBA has created a separate schema PPM_DWH for Data Warehouse.

We created the DBLink - PPMDBLINK in PPM_DWH schema to connect the NIKU schema.

But when we tried to access the table in NIKU using DBLink, we have received below error - Please let us know how to resolve this error.

Query executed in PPM_DWH schema:

select * from srm_resources@ppmdblink

Error Details: ORA-02085: database link PPMDBLINK.XX.XYZ.XYZ connects to DBSERVER_NAME 02085. 00000 -  "database link %s connects to %s" *Cause:    a database link connected to a database with a different name.            The connection is rejected. *Action:   create a database link with the same name as the database it            connects to, or set global_names=false. Error at Line: 1 Column: 28

Hi Giri,

It looks like your database link was created successfully but due to your database configuration the connection is rejected.

There is a lot of solutions for this ORA-02085 errors posted on Oracle communities but only your DBA will know which ones are best, and applicable for your specific RAC environment. So please work with your DBA to correct this issue.
