CA Service Management

  • 1.  Tab in SDM

    I have a tab on the toolbar in service desk that opens process automation task list for the user logged into service desk. Service desk 12.7.

    Works fine with IE8, chrome. I upgraded laptop to IE11 and now when the task list opens the columns are messed up and I have to maximize the entire window for the columns to expand correctly. If the window is already maximized when I click on the tab then there is not a problem.

    Hi Stephanie,

    Did you perform the below steps according to the 12.7 certification matrix:

    Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (on Microsoft Windows only) :

    - Before you open CA SDM Web UI on IE 11, launch the browser and complete the following steps:

    - Add the CA SDM URL to intranet zone.

    - Add the CA SDM hostname to the Compatibility View Settings of the browser.

    - Make sure that the Documentation Mode is set to Default.

    Thanks,

    Naveen

    Yes I did do those steps. It is only with one tab that is giving me problems

    Hi,

    doing manipulations on client side while setting up web app is a weird thing.

    But I faced the same problems.

    Some of them are declared in this thread:

    https://communities.ca.com/thread/241730209

    If you have test environment you may try to define X-UA-Compatible as IE8 or EDGE (IE8 is a first of Internet Explorers which supports CSS2 correctly which is enough for regular things).

    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge, chrome=1">

    OR

    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8">

    To make that meta works correctly it should be defined in frameset page and also in each frame.

    Hope this makes IE11 work as regular browser without any clientside manipulations.
